Is the belly pan in my Kia Soul base worth keeping?

My coworker's 2016 Soul doesn't have the belly pan and I noticed mine does. Thought about removing it next oil change. Is there any real benefit to keeping it on?

I think the belly pan helps keep dirt and debris away from the engine and can improve airflow. You can take it off, but it does offer some extra protection.

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I guess my main thought is whether that protection is worth the extra work during an oil change. Does leaving it off cause any real problems besides a dirtier engine bay?

Nope, no real problems aside from its more prone to dirt. If you're mostly on clean roads, its not a big deal

That helps a lot! I'm mostly city driving so dirt's not much of an issue, just trying to shave off some time during oil changes. I might keep it off next round and see how messy it gets after a couple of months. Have you noticed any change in temps or mileage since removing yours?
