pcv valve swap + valve clean on 2016 Soul no more oil burn

I changed the PCV valve on my 2016 Soul! The old one rattled okay but felt loose, while the new OEM one has a nice springy feel to it. I did a valve clean a few weeks back, and it's stopped burning oil; I was losing about a quart between oil changes before. Now I'm at 92k miles. Anyone else notice a difference after swapping theirs?

Yup, a clogged pcv valve will cause the engine to burn oil. Plus, since the old one rattled, it could've been the problem. Check to see how things go with this one. SInce you were losing about a quart between changes, you should see some difference in the first 1k miles

Replaced mine with an OEM part, didn't really notice much difference, and it still rattled a bit, but it was cheap and good preventative maintenance. My wife's 2022 Sportage LX AWD has been great...
No major issues, just a couple of recalls, and she loves it.

Ok yes. Swapping the PCV valve made my Soul run waaaay smoother too. The springy feel adds to the satisfaction. It might be a small tweak to some but I swear it's huge!

I haven't changed mine yet, but I'm curious about the difference it makes too. that's good to hear that it makes the Soul running smoother. now I'm thinking about doing mine soon.

Great job on swapping that PCV! It sounds like it really improved things for you. I've been thinking about doing mine as well, but I wasn't sure if I'd feel much of a difference. Hearing that your oil burning has stopped is definitely some solid motivation. I might just go for it during my next oil change!

I swapped mine last month and noticed less oil loss too. Didn't expect that small part to make such a clear difference.

It's a serviceable part, so there's no reason why you'd wait and see if it's worth it. The part itself is dirt cheap and with some basic tools and knowledge you can replace it yourself. You have absolutely nothing to lose.

Yeah, tricky little valve, I swapped mine around the same mileage and although I noticed a slight drop, I dont think its any as significant though

Just out of curiosity, I don't have a problem with burning oil, but what if I replace the pcv valve now? Is there a problem with that or it's all going to be good?
